WIC Breast Pump Services

St. Francois County Health Center WIC’s breast pump program is one of the biggest benefits for a breastfeeding mom to be on our program.  Moms on WIC will receive quality support and guidance from our Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, and will also qualify for one of our three breast pumps.  Our Peer Counselors carefully assess a mom’s breastfeeding situation and mom’s personal goals to determine which breast pump will best meet her needs.  Here are the three pumps WIC may provide:
Manual Breast Pump:  Available to all mothers on WIC who are breastfeeding once baby is born.
Medela Pump In Style Double Electric Pump:  Available for FREE to mothers on WIC who:
.  Are not receiving any formula from WIC
.  Baby is at least 4 weeks old
.  Breastfeeding is going well
.  Mom is returning to work/school and will be away from baby for 30 hours/week or more

Lactina Double Electric Pump:  rented to breastfeeding moms on WIC who are experiencing difficulties with latch and/or milk supply.  Needs are determined by BFPC and BF coordinator.  Limited number of pumps available.

Community Lactina Double Electric:  Available for rent to breastfeeding mothers who do not qualify for WIC services for a minimal, one-time fee.  Call the WIC office for more information.  The number of pumps are limited.

WIC pumps of any variety are NOT to be sold or given away after the participant has stopped using them.
